Mijn eerste toneelstuk schreef ik in 1998: de monoloog ‘Saakje’, over het leven van een Friese boerin. Ik schrijf graag theaterteksten over historische onderwerpen, maar ben overal voor in. In 2013 begon ik samen met regisseur Mari\u00eblle van de Griendt de Theaterwerkplaats voor Ouwe Rotten<\/a>. Met 60-plussers maakten en maken we diverse voorstellingen.

Met regisseur Minnekus de Groot heb ik in 2007 de theaterstichting Het Lage Licht<\/a> opgericht. We maken in opdracht of uit eigen beweging voorstellingen, vaak over historische onderwerpen. In 2014 schreef ik de tekst voor ‘Houd Moed!’ over de razzia van Rotterdam. De voorstelling is ook uitgevoerd in 2023 en 2024. Regie: Mari\u00eblle van de Griendt.

Vanaf 1994 zing ik bij het Goudse koor Eigenwijs<\/a>. Het koor levert muzikaal commentaar op de tijd en maakt eigenwijze muziektheaterproducties. Ik schreef teksten voor een aantal van deze producties, zoals voor ‘Hart van Europa’ (2009), ‘Terug naar de Toekomst’ (2014) en ‘Barst’ (2023).

Met enige regelmaat schrijf ik teksten voor muziektheatervoorstellingen van Joep Producties. ‘Ratten en Rode Huzaren’ (2014) ging over het Rotterdamse Zandstraatkwartier. ‘Pincoffs’ (2016) over de frauduleuze zakenman Lodewijk Pincoffs. ‘Struikelstenen’ (2023) over een Rotterdams Joods meisje in WO2 .
